Counseling Services
Jon has worked in several college counseling centers since 2006, most recently Macalester College. Jon obtained a bachelor’s degree from St. John’s University, Collegeville, and completed his first year in law school at the University of Notre Dame. At Notre Dame, Jon explored combining law with psychology, but after one year studying graduate-level psychology, Jon took a permanent leave from law and has focused entirely on counseling ever since. Jon obtained his Master’s in Clinical Social Work (M.S.W.) from the University of Minnesota in 2002. Within Jon’s current counseling practice, he has specialized in depression, anxiety, grief, anger, and stress-management/time-management issues. His special interest areas include maintaining equity/inclusion passion, effective communication (especially connecting across differences without shame/blame, right/wrong thinking), somatic psychology (really feeling feelings!), and finding the right mindfulness/restorative practices for each client.
