Judge Michael D. Wentzell is a District Court Judge chambered in Carver County, Minnesota. He was appointed to the bench by Governor Mark Dayton in 2012. Judge Wentzell served as the Chief Deputy Carver County Attorney and specialized in the prosecution of child sexual abuse cases. Judge Wentzell graduated summa cum laude from Concordia College-Moorhead and cum laude from the University of Minnesota Law School. He has taught Appellate Advocacy at Mitchell Hamline since 2012 and the oral argument component of that course since 2010. He is an active member of the Chaska Rotary Club and has served as a volunteer youth hockey coach.
