Malcolm Beckett is a Virginia-licensed attorney specializing in information privacy and cybersecurity law. With extensive experience in higher education, he has served as an administrator, professor, and course designer for various business, security, and law courses.
Malcolm holds a juris doctor, summa cum laude, from Mitchell Hamline and a research doctorate in business from the National Graduate School. He has earned various certifications, including Certified Information Security Systems Professional (CISSP), Certified Information Privacy Professional for the U.S. (CIPP/US) and Europe (CIPP/E), Certified Information Privacy Manager (CIPM), and Project Management Professional (PMP). In addition, he is recognized as a Fellow of Information Privacy (FIP) by the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP).
With a broad operational and compliance background, including experience in law enforcement and investigations, Malcolm leverages his experience to navigate complex privacy and security issues across industries. He is dedicated to developing pragmatic solutions that balance legal compliance, risk management, and business objectives.
As someone who has completed all of his education as a working adult, Malcolm is passionate about overcoming barriers to education and empowering individuals through these opportunities.
