Senior Specialist, Interdisciplinary Practice & Student Well-Being
Miriam Itzkowitz, MSW, LICSW, is Senior Specialist for Interdisciplinary Practice & Student Well-Being at Mitchell Hamline School of Law. Through Mitchell Hamline’s legal clinics, Miriam works with students and directly with individuals, families and communities impacted by the legal challenges. She serves as the social work supervisor for graduate-level MSW students to link theory and practice in their field placements providing holistic, interdisciplinary representation. Miriam develops programming and trains on best practices at the intersection of legal services and interdisciplinary, trauma-responsive practice. In addition, Miriam works within the Mitchell Hamline community to develop program initiatives informed by well-being and trauma-responsive care.
Miriam has clinical experience counseling adults and adolescents in outpatient, home, and school settings. Miriam is also an adjunct faculty member at the Mitchell Hamline School of Law. She received her BA from Grinnell College and her MSW from the University of Minnesota School of Social Work.
