The Future of Healthcare Reform

February 21, 2020

This symposium sparked an intentional conversation about healthcare reform. It commemorated the 10th anniversary of the passage of the Affordable Care Act by looking at the climate of healthcare prior to 2010 and what changes the ACA was intended to make and did make. This event then focused on encouraging innovation in healthcare reform through collaborative thinking, built-in table discussions, and panel discussions about how to be creative in healthcare form, what other organizations are doing, and what an ACA 2.0 might look like.

This symposium featured nation-wide industry leaders from government, insurance, physicians groups, hospitals, patient advocate groups, and more. It included guests and participants from the Department of Human Services, Bright Health, Medica, Blue Cross, Unitedhealth, Gillette Children’s Hospital, NORC at the University of Chicago, Faegre Consulting in Washington DC, the Deputy Commissioner of Insurance in Minnesota, Ucare, Hennepin Health, CentraCare, Minnesota Hospital Association, Gender Justice, and the Mayo Clinic to name a few.

This event was co-hosted by the Health Law Institute and the Minnesota State Bar Associate Health Law Section.
