Trial LawHER Scholarship
Trial LawHER Scholarship, a $10,000 scholarship to be annually awarded to a woman rising 3L law student with plans to become a plaintiff trial lawyer. Applications are now open for the 2021 scholarship competition.
Some background on the idea behind this scholarship: I have worked in the settlement planning industry for almost three decades, and I have noticed how underdeveloped new trial lawyers’ understanding is of the important role settlement planning plays in the context of our civil justice system. I’m on a mission to change that, to educate the next generation of plaintiff trial lawyers. And I aim to do so through this scholarship.
You may be asking yourself – why is this scholarship only open to women? It is no secret that the trial bar is a male-dominated space. I am a firm believer that in order for our civil justice system to function as it is intended, we need more gender equality in the courtroom, more woman trial lawyers advocating for plaintiffs.
