Full-Time On-Campus Schedule
Students are auto-enrolled in the following courses during their first and second years:
Year 1 (15 credits per semester)

JD Course Requirements
Beyond all semester 1-4 auto-enrolled courses (above), students need to meet additional course requirements to complete the J.D.:
- Transactions & Settlements or Negotiation (3 cr.):
- Students may take both, but at least one needs to be on their transcript.
- Long Paper, which can be completed in several ways:
- Seminars: courses specifically set up to guide the student through completion of the long paper.
- Other ARW courses, e.g., Arbitration with Long Paper.
- Journals and other publications.
- Independent Long Paper:
- Only for circumstances where a student cannot write on their desired topic in one of the long paper courses.
- Requires a professor to agree to supervise the research and writing of the paper.
- Can be written only in a student’s final two semesters.
For students who are on academic support programming (the student’s cumulative GPA was below a 3.0 at the end of their first year), there are additional requirements:
- Evidence: Students are auto-enrolled in this class in their 4th semester.
- Constitutional Criminal Procedure: Students are auto-enrolled in this course in their 4th semester.
- Bar Strategies MBE/MEE or Bar Strategies NextGen: offered only in the spring. Students should plan to take this course in their final spring semester.
- Bar Strategies MPT: offered only in the fall. Students should plan to take this course in their final fall semester.

General Schedule Rules
First Year
- First-year courses are auto-enrolled, and students cannot add or drop classes.
Second Year
- Second-year courses are auto-enrolled, but students may make changes to their schedule:
- Students may add courses to their second-year schedule to maintain a full-time status.
- Students may also choose to drop one or more of their pre-registered courses but must be sure to meet the requirements before graduation.
Third Year+
Students are not pre-registered for any courses during their third year and should use this time to meet any remaining requirements (including the Bar Strategies courses if required).
Summer and J-Term
- Summer courses can be taken as early as the first year.
- Students may not take classes in the J-Term of their first year.
