Chris Meehleib is a health care executive specializing in data privacy, cybersecurity, and AI governance. Before law school, he had a career in health care analytics and technology, working with major health care companies on data-driven innovation. This exposed him to the operational and ethical challenges of handling sensitive data and sparked a lasting interest in how private information is governed and protected, ultimately shaping his legal path.
He earned his J.D. from Mitchell Hamline, choosing the school for its renowned Health Law Institute and blended-learning enrollment option. While there, he earned certificates in health law and health care compliance and was actively involved in the Health Law Clinic.
He also holds an Executive MBA from the University of Colorado Boulder and multiple certifications from the Health Care Compliance Association (HCCA), the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP), and ISC². He is recognized by IAPP as a fellow of information privacy and serves on its faculty, providing training for the CIPP/US certification.
He has advised leading health care organizations on complex regulatory, ethical, and compliance issues involving data protection and responsible AI. He currently serves as a privacy and security officer at a Fortune 25 health care company, where he tracks emerging privacy and AI regulations, advises on operationalizing legal requirements, and develops enterprise strategies for data and AI policy.
Outside of working and teaching, he enjoys spending time with his wife, whom he met at Mitchell Hamline, and their children.
