
Allen K. Easley earned his bachelor’s degree from the College of Wooster in Ohio and his juris doctor and Master of Law degrees from Temple University School of Law in Philadelphia. He came to William Mitchell College of Law in 2004 from Washburn University School of Law in Topeka, Kan., where he taught in the areas of civil procedure, conflict of laws, and federal courts. He was associate dean there from 1991 to 2004. Easley, who was very involved in the American Bar Association and the Association of American Law Schools, was nationally recognized as a policymaker and strategist in the oversight of law schools. Among his many accomplishments at the national level, he worked on modernizing nationwide recruitment of new law school faculty members and on oversight of the law school accreditation process.
At William Mitchell, Easley successfully concluded a major capital campaign that raised more than $20 million, hired nine nationally recognized legal scholars, and established a new Intellectual Property Institute, a Center for Negotiation and Justice, and a Center for Elder Justice and Policy.
