
Anthony Niedwiecki received his B.A. (1979) from Wayne State University, his J.D. (1995) from Tulane Law School, and his LL.M. (2000) from Temple University Beasley School of Law. He has taught at Temple (1988-2000, 2001-2003), Nova Southeastern, Arizona State, and John Marshall law schools. At John Marshall, he served in two associate dean positions for academic affairs and experiential learning. He was dean and professor of law at Golden Gate University School of Law from 2017-2020. Niedwiecki was appointed President and Dean of Mitchell Hamline School of Law in 2020 and ended his service as dean in 2023, planning to return to the faculty after a yearlong sabbatical.
Niedwiecki also has served on the Broward County Human Rights Board and Resource Recovery Board (2009-2010), and as city commissioner and vice mayor of the City of Oakland Park, Florida (2009-2010.) Niedwiecki and his husband Waymon Hudson founded the GLBTQ advocacy organization, Fight OUT Loud. He has served on committees for the Law School Admissions Council, the American Bar Association Section on Legal Education and Admissions to the Bar, and the Association of Legal Writing Directors (president 2012-13). Niedwiecki has also served on the ABA accreditation task force and chaired the publications committee; and the California law school council.
