Volunteers wanted for spring semester
Mitchell Hamline is seeking volunteers to help law students practice their advocacy skills during the spring 2025 semester. There will be three topics to choose from with two-hour time slots to fill.

Client interview
The volunteer will portray a new client for the students to interview. After the completion of the interview, the volunteer will provide feedback regarding the students’ narrative probing and listening skills, empathy and building rapport with the client.

Motion hearing
The volunteer will serve as the judge. The judge will not rule on the motion but will provide feedback regarding the persuasiveness and completeness of the students’ argument.

Preparing a legislative staffer
The volunteer will serve as the legislative staffer. The students will present an issue to the staffer and advocate as to why their position on the issue should be part of the legislator’s agenda.
