Mitchell Hamline administrators and faculty met with a delegation of Chinese higher education officials Tuesday, April 26.
The purpose of the meeting was to explore new ways Mitchell Hamline might partner with Chinese law schools.
Mitchell Hamline President and Dean Mark Gordon welcomed Wang Guangfa, President of Fazheng Group and Chairman and Principal of Beijing Royal School, to campus.
Gordon told the delegation Mitchell Hamline wants to strike up relationships with Chinese law schools. Those partnerships could include faculty and student exchanges as well as research collaborations. He asked for the chairman’s help in getting Mitchell Hamline recognized by the Chinese Ministry of Education, a crucial step for the school to begin work with Chinese schools.
Wang Guangfa said he’s confident the Ministry of Education would look favorably on such partnerships and pledged to help with the process.
He invited Mitchell Hamline officials to visit China in the near future to further discuss possibilities for partnerships.
