The foundation supporting Minnesota Women Lawyers, an organization dedicated to advancing the success of women in the legal field, has awarded scholarships to Mitchell Hamline students Arianna Chapman and Deanna Rey. The two were honored Thursday, Nov. 9, during the Minnesota Women Lawyers Rosalie Wahl Leadership Lecture.
Chapman, a 1L in the Executive J.D. enrollment option, received the 2017 Leslie Altman Memorial Scholarship. The scholarship honors the memory of Twin Cities attorney Leslie Altman—a strong advocate for women in the law and the first woman appointed to the Minnesota Workers’ Compensation Court of Appeals. Altman died in 2012.
Rey, a 2L, was awarded the foundation’s 2017 Law Student Scholarship, given to students attending a Minnesota law school who show an interest in furthering the mission of Minnesota Women Lawyers.
