As the first group of students prepares to graduate from Mitchell Hamline’s Hybrid J.D. program in January, the St. Paul Pioneer Press profiled the first-of-its-kind legal education effort in the newspaper’s Nov. 24 edition.
The story also looks at the accomplishments of Brian Kennedy and Briana Al Taqatqa–two of the roughly dozen students who will be among the first to earn their J.D. through the program. Kennedy and Al Taqatqa won the International Negotiation Competition this summer in Oslo, Norway.
Brian Kennedy, who at 62 is the chief executive of the El Paso Sports Commission, told the Pioneer Press that the Hybrid J.D. program was the only option for him to earn his J.D.
“For me, without the hybrid program, I couldn’t go to law school,” he said. “It just wasn’t going to happen.”
