Another academic year has closed, and over 300 Mitchell Hamline graduates will be honored at the law school’s commencement ceremony on Saturday, May 31.
The class of 2025 includes graduates from 45 U.S. states and D.C., as well as Canada, Germany, Argentina, Singapore, the United Kingdom, and 12 First Nations and Tribal Nations across the continent. The ceremony annually recognizes the students who have completed their Master of Laws or Juris Doctor degrees throughout the year, whether after the fall and spring terms.
Keeli Siyaka ’25, an enrolled member of the Sisseton Wahpeton Oyate, will give the land acknowledgement, followed by McKenna Coffeen ’25 as the student speaker. Mitchell Hamline proudly welcomes Minnesota Lieutenant Governor Peggy Flanagan to deliver the commencement address to the class of 2025. Flanagan is the state’s 50th lieutenant governor, a member of the White Earth Band of Ojibwe, and the country’s highest ranking Native woman elected to executive office.
More information about the ceremony can be found on the commencement webpage. The ceremony will also be available as a livestream for those interested in watching remotely.
