Deciding where you’re going to go to law school is the first major decision of your legal career. That’s why Mitchell Hamline is here to help.
Mitchell Hamline is excited to welcome prospective students to campus for Admitted Student Day and have them experience what it’s like to be a law student here—learning about academic opportunities, hearing from student panels, sitting through a mock class, hearing an inspiring keynote address from a Mitchell Hamline alum, exploring student support services, and getting to know fellow prospective and current students, faculty, and staff.
Current 1L student Jennifer Guerra was drawn to Mitchell Hamline because of the experiential learning opportunities and community. “I chose to attend Mitchell Hamline because of the amount of externships, the clinics, and also the professors,” she said.
For another 1L student, Ashely Frisco, career preparation was on her mind when she decided on a law school. “I want to become a judge one day here in Minnesota, and I know that going to school at Mitchell Hamline School of Law will open many doors to be able to let me do that.”
Mitchell Hamline was the gateway to the law for alumna Roxanne Lutgen ’18. “If it had not been for Mitchell Hamline’s hybrid class, I would never have been able to go to law school,” she said.
Lutgen decided to pursue law school after spending almost three decades as a CPA, and the blended-learning enrollment option allowed her to work full time while attending law school. She currently owns a solo practice in Wisconsin, Lutgen Law Office, and she is one of the newest members of Mitchell Hamline alumni sworn into the Supreme Court of the United States bar.
