Summary of Position
Disability and Student Services is looking for Access Assistants to assist in facilitating exam accommodations for students with disabilities.
Responsibilities include:
- Serving as an exam reader/scribe.
- Serve as a visual assistant for students who are blind/low vision and learning how to format documents or access databases using a screen reader.
Job Qualifications
The Access Assistant must be a current MHSL student in good academic standing and work-study eligible. Access Assistants should have a desire to promote accessibility to legal education for all students and be available a minimum of 2-hour blocks. The Access Assistant should also be comfortable working with peers who have disabilities.
Compensation
Position is paid hourly and students will be paid the standard MHSL student worker hourly rate as follows:
New in Position: $10.50 Year 2 in position: $11.00 Year 3 in position: $11.50
