The faculty’s curriculum committee is considering possible changes to the part-time evening program for future students enrolling in fall 2021 and beyond. NOTE: Regardless of any possible changes, the current evening program would remain for students currently in the evening program. Any proposed change would be for fall 2021.
During the discussions last year that resulted in changes to the blended learning programs, the faculty decided that by the end of this school year they would make a recommendation on how to structure our part-time fully in-residence enrollment option (currently the evening program). That is, would we stick with the evening program (which we currently have), return to the weekend program (the fully in-residence version that we had converted to blended a few years ago), or something different (perhaps even a “hybrid” of both of those programs or something with an online component) for student enrolling in fall 2021? The evening program will remain as it is for students enrolling fall 2020.
The discussion this Saturday 11/9 at noon in room 123 has four objectives:
- Explain the process the faculty will use to make its recommendation;
- Share the timeline for doing so;
- Describe opportunities for student input and feedback; and
- Begin the process of collecting student input and suggestions (we intend to spend the most time on this item).
Professor Jim Hilbert, who chairs the faculty curriculum committee, will lead the discussions and be available for questions.
Lunch will be served.
