The American Counsel Association, an organization created in 1928 which is comprised of both U.S. and International lawyers who meet each year in conjunction with the American Bar Association’s annual meeting, recently announced a $5,000 cash scholarship opportunity for a current 2L student in good academic standing, demonstrates high scholastic aptitude, a financial need and has expressed a desire to use the law in some way to improve the society.
Eligible 2L students can e-mail the Financial Aid at financialaid.clerk@mitchellhamline.edu to express interest in the scholarship opportunity, to qualify students must submit the following:
1.) The nominee’s name, address, e-mail address and phone.
2.) An official law school transcript or certification of overall GPA and class rank.
3.) A letter from you or a professor/administrator with personal knowledge setting forth the nominee’s academic credentials and extracurricular activities.
4.) A letter from the nominee setting forth professional goals and accomplishments, financial needs and any other information the nominee believes relevant.
The deadline for submitting the materials and notification of interest is Monday, March 1st, 2021. The ACA will notify the winner in May with additional details to follow the announcement.
