Understanding the Legal Process: The Derek Chauvin Trial
Saint Paul, Minn. — On Monday, March 8, from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m., Hamline University will host “Understanding the Legal Process: The Derek Chauvin Trial,” a webinar designed to provide the audience with an idea of what to expect in the courtroom during the trial.
“We want everyone to understand what they’ll be watching for the next several weeks because some do not know the mechanics of a criminal trial and we felt it important to bring the process to light for our community before the trial begins,” said Hamline University President Fayneese Miller.
The hour-long event will feature Ramsey County Attorney John Choi JD ’95 discussing the prosecution’s perspective in a criminal trial, and Bradford Colbert, a law professor at Mitchell Hamline School of Law presenting the defense perspective. Hamline University Distinguished Professor David Schultz will moderate the conversation.
Members of the audience may submit questions for consideration to mediarelations@hamline.edu before and during the event.
The webinar will be available for all to view at hamline.edu/stream. Understanding the Legal Process: The Derek Chauvin Trial will be recorded and available after the event on Hamline University’s YouTube channel.
