Dr. T. Anansi Wilson needs a Research Assistant to work during the Summer of 2021, and then at least through the end of Fall Semester 2021. Dr. Wilson’s current projects include several articles concerning the policing, criminalization and profiling of Black and BlaQueer people from slavery to the present. In addition, the Research Assistant may be asked to help with course administration and review for one of Dr. Wilson’s classes; though most of the RA’s time will be focused on editing and review of articles and research. A background in or prior study of critical race theory, slavery studies, Black Studies, Queer Theory, Black feminist theory, American Studies and/or political economy would be most helpful; in addition to criminal and constitutional law. Interested students should see Furtive Blackness: On Blackness & Being to understand the type of work we will be co-creating. Please send a cover note, resume and short writing sample (preferably not corrected by a reviewer) either by e-mail to Anansi.wilson@mitchellhamline.edu as soon as possible. Please note that writing samples need not be law review articles; but should showcase an understanding of the aforementioned issues; primarily those concerning race, law and society.
