Exciting news! Mitchell Hamline’s Journal of Public Policy & Practice has decided to extend the application deadline to July 20th at 11:59 pm. With everything going on this year, we received some demand for extending the deadline. We wanted to give everyone who is interested a chance to apply for a position with the Journal. For those of you who have already received the write-on materials and instructions, simply follow those instructions and submit your application by July 20th. If you did not receive the write-on materials yet, but would like to, please email abdur.amin@mitchellhamline.edu. We are looking for dedicated and enthusiastic students to join our team, and we hope you will consider it!
The Journal is a fantastic way to improve and refine your writing, hone your Bluebook skills, and most importantly, get connected with other students! It is an awesome experience, looks great on resumes, and is a way to distinguish yourself in front of potential employers. It prepares you for real-world experience by sharpening the critical skills you need to succeed in practice. It is also a lot of fun! In addition to publishing articles, we have some exciting events planned for this year. If you are interested in policy and the practical application of the law, this could be a great fit for you!
The application process is simple. If you are applying for an editing associate position, we estimate a maximum of 3-5 hours to complete the Bluebook quiz. If you are applying for a writing associate position, we estimate a maximum of 25 hours total to complete the Bluebook quiz and write the policy paper.
We hope you will consider writing on to the Journal! This is going to be a fantastic year, and we look forward to bringing on a great group of associates to join us!
