The mission of the Peggy Browning Fund (PBF) is to empower the next generation of workplace justice advocates. Through fellowships, workers’ rights conferences, networking, and other programs, we provide unique opportunities for law students to work for economic and social justice. Since our first Summer Fellowship Program in 1998, the prestige of a Peggy Browning Fellowship has become widely recognized
Our core program is the Summer Fellowships, which provide funded ten-week summer fellowships to law students across the United States. Peggy Browning Fellows work in a wide variety of social justice organizations, including unions, workplace justice non-profits, and union-side law firms. Last year, the Summer Fellowship Program placed 104 law students at over 75 different organizations. Attached is a letter-sized poster and social-media sized image for schools to share. Files can also be accessed on our GDrive folder here.
The 2023 PBF Summer Fellowship Program is expected to open applications on November 21st, 2022, with offers starting on a rolling basis on December 10th. Applications for the 2023 cycle close January 13th, 2023. While fellowship opportunities will be listed from the open of applications, new opportunities will be added throughout December and January, so applicants are encouraged to check the website for updates. If students have further questions about the program or the application process, they can find more information on our website. Other inquiries should be sent to info@peggybrowningfund.org.
