The Fort Snelling Immigration Court has posted a position for a volunteer internship for Summer 2023. Applications are due by February 15, 2023. For details, please see the attached position announcement.
Interns assist the court in drafting written decisions and memos, which is an excellent way to develop research and writing skills while becoming more familiar with the substantive law. Interning with the court also gives students the opportunity to learn advocacy skills as they observe hearings and hear from the judges about best practices.
The posting should be available on Symplicity for each Minnesota law school. The position is also posted on the DOJ website (https://www.justice.gov/legal-careers/volunteer-legal-internships). If there are any questions, please feel free to contact Attorney Advisor Nick Hittler at Nicholas.Hittler@usdoj.gov.
