It is nearing the end of the 2022-2023 Term for the Wahl Chapter Board, and it’s time to turn over Wahl Chapter to another set of hands for the 2023-2024 school year! The Wahl Chapter is part of Phi Alpha Delta, an international legal fraternity (https://www.pad.org/). Opportunities and networking are endless–conventions, networking socials, career fairs, and mock trial are just a few! The open positions are:
- Justice (President) – oversees all aspects of chapter operations and makes sure that the other officers perform the duties of their respective offices, schedules meetings and events
- Vice Justice (VP) – assists the Justice with all chapter operations, acts as essentially PR for the chapter
- Clerk (Secretary) – keeps record of meetings, by-laws, and all chapter members with contact info, and sends out notices of meetings to members
- Treasurer – oversees chapter budgeting, chapter/initiation dues, and making requests to SBA for funds if it’s necessary
- Marshal – maintains proper order in meetings and rituals, oversees initiation, and acts as the Social Chair for Wahl Chapter
- Social Chair – helps the VP with activity planning and recruitment.
If you have interest in any of these positions, please email Chapter Justice Oz (John Oswald) at John.Oswald@MitchellHamline.edu with your name, year in school, Blended or BAM, which position(s) you’re interested in, and a little blurb (max. 200 words) of why you’ll be a good fit for that/those role(s). Please also rank your top three preferences, with 1 = the position you are most interested in, etc.
PLEASE EMAIL Oz BEFORE MIDNIGHT ON February 12TH as elections need to happen by the 15th.
We strongly encourage you to apply for board membership. PAD board member duties are relatively light compared to other on-campus student groups, and leadership positions that law students commit to doing. Activities like being a PAD Board member, while in law school, are particularly attractive to employers and best position you to network and connect with local firms and alumni.
We are especially interested in recruiting a mix of BAM and Blended students to next year’s board so we can reach all branches of the student body, so please don’t let your status as a hybrid student stop you from applying for board positions. Thank you!
