This event promises to be an insightful discussion on legal careers, with an opportunity to ask questions. We will be featuring two distinguished panelists, Corey Kobbervig and Matthew McCarthy.

About Our Panelists:
Corey Kobbervig:
Corey Kobbervig is passionate about protecting employee and individual rights. He has helped employees who were terminated to obtain unemployment benefits and unpaid wages. He has assisted individuals and families with planning for the future. In addition, he has drafted and filed formation documents for entrepreneurs. Mr. Kobbervig has practiced in state and federal court, and has twice argued before the Minnesota Court of Appeals, with one resulting in a precedential opinion. He has a record of fighting hard for his clients. Mr. Kobbervig is active in the community as a member of the Minnesota State Bar Association, former chair of the Ramsey County Bar Association New Lawyers Section, and former member of the Ramsey County Bar Association Board of Directors. In addition to his paid legal work, Mr. Kobbervig performs pro bono legal services through various organizations.
Matthew McCarthy:
Matthew McCarthy is Vice President and Assistant General Counsel for U.S. Bank. Matthew serves as Chief Legal Officer and Secretary for U.S. Bancorp Investments, a full-service broker/dealer, investment adviser, and insurance agency. As CLO, Matthew primarily advises the broker/dealer on its retail operations, product approvals, personnel, litigation, and governance. He also provides interpretations of securities laws and regulations affecting the broader U.S. Bancorp Company as the Law Division’s Reg R expert and representative to the Company’s Volcker Program Office. Prior to his current position, Matthew served as Securities Regulatory Counsel for U.S. Bank, and as Senior Securities Enforcement Attorney and Assistant General Counsel for the Tennessee Department of Commerce and Insurance. Matthew received his B.S.B.A. in Business Economics from the University of Arizona Eller College of Management and his J.D. from Vanderbilt University Law School.
