JUDGES NEEDED for Hatting Invitational Mock Trial Tournament — Saturday and Sunday, January 18-19, 2025.
For the first time since 2020, the University of St. Thomas School of Law will be hosting the Hatting Invitational Mock Trial Tournament likely featuring students from more than a dozen colleges and universities. Organized by Professor Jerry Organ with significant support from the Board of Advocates, the Hatting Invitational will feature four rounds:
ROUND 1: Saturday, January 18 at 9:00 a.m.
ROUND 2: Saturday, January 18 at 1:30 p.m.
ROUND 3: Sunday, January 19 at 8:30 a.m.
ROUND 4: Sunday, January 19 at 1:00 p.m.
The trials will begin immediately after the Judges Meeting for each round and will last no longer than three hours. You DO NOT receive case materials beforehand and so there is no preparation required. One of our committee members will review the rules/procedure with you when you report to the “Judges’ Room” on the day of your service. We would like to have three judges for each trial session, which means we need lots of judges to fill roughly 120 judging slots. If you are interested in volunteering for one or more rounds, please send an email to [email protected] with the round(s) you would like to judge. We will send out more detailed information to those who have volunteered in early January.
