Are you interested in working for a state department as a lawyer?
Julie Matucheski, Assistant District Attorney with the Kenai District Attorney’s Office in Kenai, Alaska will be on campus Monday, March 31, 12:00-1:00PM in the Kelley Board Room to provide her insights on the experiences, strategies, and skills essential for a successful career as a prosecutor in Alaska, with a focus on prosecuting sex crimes. Alaska’s legal environment presents prosecutors with a unique set of challenges and opportunities that are distinct from those faced in most other jurisdictions. From handling cases in remote locations to addressing issues related to the state’s diverse culture and harsh weather conditions, the role of a prosecutor in Alaska requires a comprehensive understanding of the local legal system and its intricacies.
Ms. Matucheski, a 2015 graduate of the University of Minnesota Law School, brings with her a wealth of knowledge and experience – from serving as a judicial law clerk for the Alaska Supreme Court, as well as a prosecutor in Minnesota, Wisconsin, and now Alaska. If you are interested in criminal law generally, prosecution specifically, or working outside of Minnesota, we highly recommend attending this event. Ms. Matucheski is also able to provide information about the paid summer internship program with the Alaska Department of Law and the hiring process for new law graduates.
Food will be provided.
