Legal Writing Specialist
Liz Graupman has B.A. in political science and English from University of Wisconsin. She earned her J.D. from Stanford University, where she was a member of the Stanford Law Review. Liz has extensive legal analysis, research, and writing experience. Before law school she did legislative/policy work at the state and national levels. She conducted legal and policy research regarding reproductive rights, employment discrimination, and domestic violence at NOW Legal Defense and Education Fund in New York. She served as an Associate at Debevoise & Plimpton in New York and at Faegre & Benson in Minneapolis, where she drafted briefs and advisory memos in areas ranging from intellectual property to employment law to insurance and securities. She served as a law and policy advocate for Family and Children’s Service, where she worked on behalf of women in the criminal justice system, addressing system-wide gender-based disparities. Most recently, Liz clerked at the United States District Court for the District of Minnesota, where she drafted orders and opinions in prisoner litigation cases, habeas cases, and criminal appeals, and managed an extensive pro-se caseload.
