Ann Buesgens (ANN BIS gens, she/her/hers) has a diverse ethnic heritage that includes Cuban, Guatemalan (Mayn), and French by birth and Irish and German through adoption. Similarly, the identifiers she uses for herself are multiple, including: person of color, adoptee, daughter, granddaughter, sister, aunt, married/divorced/married, step parent, yaya to four littles, dog mom, nontraditional and first-generation college student, Catholic/Christian, ally to LGBTQ+, military, law enforcement, immigrants, and the international community.
Ann earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of St. Thomas and has done graduate work at the University of Florida. She is affiliated with organizations including the Minnesota Association of Counselors of Color, the Minnesota Federal Bar Diversity Committee, the Minnesota Animal Humane Society, and the United States Humane Society.
Interests: Golf, motorcycles, reading, walking, swimming, skiing (snow and water), watching football, rugby, professional bull riding, and NASCAR racing.
