Legal Counsel, Health Law Practice Group Chair, Mayo Clinic
Ashton Boon serves as legal counsel, health law practice group chair at Mayo Clinic. Ms. Boon provides strategic oversight to the health law practice within the legal department. Ms. Boon leads the regulatory compliance and clinical research specialty teams sharing expertise to department and executive-level physician and administrative leadership on state and federal regulations. Prior to joining the legal department, Ms. Boon served as an administrator for urology department, designed a Mayo Clinic Centers of Excellence program, negotiated commercial contracts on behalf of the institution, served as a regulatory consultant, and managed a revenue cycle department. Ms. Boon utilizes these experiences to provide a curriculum that is practical and applicable, infusing real-word examples into lectures and coursework. Ms. Boon received her J.D. with Health Law and Health Care Compliance certifications at Hamline University School of Law, M.H.A. from the University of Minnesota and LL.M. from Loyola School of Law University of Chicago. In 2021, she received the Rising Star award from Minnesota Lawyer.
