Magistrate Judge, U.S. District Court, District of Minnesota
Judge Becky R. Thorson currently serves as a U.S. Magistrate Judge in the Minnesota U.S. District Court. Prior to this, she was a partner at Robins, Kaplan, Miller and Ciresi. Before that she was a partner at Greene Espel. She has been an active teacher, as an adjunct professor at William Mitchell College of Law and abroad. She has also published articles in the areas of legal practice and IP law. She has served on the Federal Practice Committee and the Patent Advisory Committee for the U.S. District Courts, the Mitchell Hamline Intellectual Property Institute advisory board, and the boards of directors of Twin Cities Diversity in Practice, the YWCA, the Friends of Children Foundation (former president), Disability Justice, and the Infinity Project. She has been active in various bar associations and has received numerous awards for her contributions to the profession.
