Beth Honetschlager is a legal writing specialist in the Office of Academic Excellence, as well as an emerita professor of legal writing. She works as a one-on-one tutor, providing academic support for current law students and bar preparation support for graduates. She specializes in tutoring for writing assignments, in particular for the Legal Analysis, Research, and Communication (LARC) and Advocacy courses.
Professor Honetschlager was a professor of legal writing at Hamline Law School, where she taught first-year and upper-level courses in the Legal Research and Writing program. She also taught legal writing at the University of Minnesota Law School.
Professor Honetschlager was a research attorney and editor with the Legal Research Center in Minneapolis, where she performed legal research; wrote briefs, office memoranda, and multi-state surveys of the law; and edited other attorneys’ writing.
Professor Honetschlager began her career as a law clerk for Judge Robert Bowen in the Minnesota Fourth Judicial District Court. She is the co-author of a book, Judicial Clerkships: A Practical Guide, which is a resource for current judicial clerks and for law students and graduates considering judicial clerkships.
