Nadine Graves is a Minnesota native (daughter of Liberian immigrants) and a graduate of, a HBCU, Delaware State University, where she earned a B.A. in Sociology and Criminal Justice, and a J.D. at Mitchell Hamline School of Law.
Nadine is deputy director for community legal services at The Legal Rights Center and a former public defender in Hennepin County who has represented hundreds of people charged with criminal offenses ranging from misdemeanors to felonies. She has also represented parents subjected to child protection civil cases.
Nadine is a past board member and chair of We Are Criminals, a non-profit organization dedicated to challenging society’s perceptions of what it means to be “criminal.” She hosts a podcast called “The Waiting Room” and was awarded a Bush Fellowship in 2023.
