Graduate Writing Specialist, Yale University’s Graduate Writing Lab
Patricia Trainor is a Graduate Writing Specialist at Yale University’s Graduate Writing Lab. She works with law school and other graduate students to help improve their oral and written communication skills. Patricia joined Yale in 2018, after spending over a decade as a legal editor, managing editor, and vice president of content for Simplify Compliance LLC, a company providing legal compliance information and services for employers. Prior to her work at Simplify Compliance, Patricia represented employers and school districts in labor and employment matters in state and federal court, the EEOC, and the Illinois Human Rights Commission. For seven years, she taught legal writing and research at Loyola University Chicago School of Law. Patricia earned her law degree magna cum laude from Loyola. She also has a M.S. in Mass Communications from San Diego State University and a B.A. summa cum laude from the State University of New York, Brockport. Patricia is a member of the American Bar Association, Connecticut Bar Association, and the Illinois State Bar Association. She is licensed to practice law in Illinois and Connecticut.
