The Intellectual Property Externship Program is part of the general externship program, but it is geared toward placing students who are interested in careers in IP and opportunities to experience what it is like to be an IP attorney. Mitchell Hamline students have worked for: patent law firms, learning the art of patent prosecution; general law firms and large corporations that confront a myriad of IP-related issues every day; and small and medium sized business that rely heavily upon trademark and trade secret law to make their businesses successful.
