Overview
The Mitchell Hamline Law Journal of Public Policy and Practice is a student-run and student-edited journal that was founded in 1976. The Mitchell Hamline Law Journal of Public Policy and Practice is the product of the merger of Hamline Journal of Law and Public Policy and William Mitchell Journal of Law and Practice in 2016. Law Journal’s charge is: “Excellence through diligence, not exclusivity.” Law Journal’s Editors work hard to produce the highest quality of legal publication available on topics relating to legal practice, legal issues faced by the public, and legal policy solutions.
Volume 46 Write-On
You are invited to write on to the Law Journal of Public Policy & Practice! We are seeking writing and editing associates for the 2024–25 Journal. Law Journal’s associates work hard to produce the highest quality of legal publication available on topics relating to legal practice, legal issues faced by the public, and legal policy solutions.

Important dates
- May 17, 2024: Sign-Up Deadline for Receiving Write-On Materials
- May 18, 2024: Write-On Process Begins
- Complete a Bluebook citation worksheet
- Submit a Lawyering memo, Advocacy brief, or other writing sample
- Policy or practice problem (only needed for writing associate positions, not editing associate positions)
- June 15, 2024: Write-On Process Closes
