Let’s talk about Minnesota Legal Research!
Our Minnesota Legal Research Guide contains resources and starting points for conducting Minnesota legal research. The various tabs in the Guide are on the following topics: Legislature/Statutes, Courts/Cases, Agencies/Regulations, Practice Tools, Law Libraries, and Other States/Uniform Laws.
The Legislature/Statutes tab contains links to the Minnesota State Legislature website and resources for researching the state constitution, laws, statutes, and current legislation.
The Courts/Cases tab contains links to the Minnesota Judicial Branch and specific court websites, and information about resources for finding opinions, briefs, and other materials related to the judicial process.
The Agencies/Regulations tab contains links to guides on the rulemaking process in Minnesota, the Minnesota State Register and Minnesota Rules, and several listings of Minnesota State Agencies.
The Practice Tools tab contains links to or information about Continuing Legal Education materials, the Minnesota Practice set, and forms and formbooks.
The Law Libraries tab contains links to the state, county, and academic law libraries in Minnesota.
And the Other States/Uniform Laws tab has links to access the uniform laws, as well as portals for starting your legal research in other states.
Don’t forget that the reference librarians are always here to help, too! They are available for appointments (or questions) in person or via phone (651-290-6424), chat, Zoom, or email.
