Let’s talk about Federal Legal Research!
Our Federal Legal Research Guide contains resources and starting points for conducting all types of federal legal research. The various tabs in the Guide are on the following topics: Introduction, Legislative, Judicial, and Executive/Administrative.
The Introduction tab contains general federal legal research resources, including links to federal law research guides and selected federal legal research books.
The Legislative tab contains links to the United States Code, federal legislative histories, and other federal legislation including bills, hearings, committee/conference reports, debates, the Congressional Record, and more.
The Judicial tab lay out ways to access Supreme Court and other federal court cases, federal briefs, PACER, federal court rules, and federal attorney general opinions.
The Executive/Administrative tab contains links for federal administrative resources and federal agency listings.
Don’t forget that the reference librarians are always here to help, too! They are available for appointments (or questions) in person or via phone (651-290-6424), chat, Zoom, or email.
