The Mitchell Hamline Alumni Association has recognized four graduating students for their commitment and involvement at Mitchell Hamline, their academic achievements, and their sincere interest to remain engaged with the school after graduation. Each student received a cash award from the Alumni Association during a ceremony on Tuesday, May 17, on the Mitchell Hamline campus.
Katy Boyle graduated in January 2016. Boyle worked hard to support Mitchell Hamline’s Intellectual Property Institute and other IP related activities at the school. She’s working with the firm Pauly, DeVries Smith & Deffner in Minneapolis.
Liz Fors graduated in January 2016. Fors was a forceful advocate for students in Mitchell Hamline’s part-time program, particularly those in the weekend program. She’ll be working with the firm Robins Kaplan in Minneapolis.
Sarah Holm is graduating May 22, 2016. Holm served as a structured study group leader for two 1L classes and has continued to mentor those students throughout law school. Holm hopes to continue mentoring students as an alum. She’s secured a position at the Minneapolis office of the national firm Foley & Mansfield.
Ruta Johnsen is graduating May 22, 2016. Johnson has shown exceptional commitment to her peers, professors, the school, and the many clients that she represented through her work with the Child Protection Program, which included arguing successfully in front of the Minnesota Court of Appeals. She’ll work for the Minneapolis firm Walling, Berg & Debele after graduation.
