46 graduates will receive Juris Doctor degrees at Mitchell Hamline’s winter commencement Sunday, Jan. 7. The ceremony will take place at 2 pm at the Minneapolis Convention Center in Room 101.
The new graduates join the ranks of more than 19,000 alumni.
Sunday’s ceremony will feature a commencement address by the Hon. Natalie Hudson, associate justice on the Minnesota Supreme Court. The student speaker is Christina M. Buskohl, and Professor Jim Hilbert will give the Charge to the Class.
Sunday’s graduation is also noteworthy because 16 of the graduates will be the first to complete Mitchell Hamline’s first-of-its-kind Hybrid J.D. program, in which students earn a degree by studying both online and in-person.
“The graduation of the first 16 students in our Hybrid J.D. program is a historic moment for Mitchell Hamline and for legal education,” said President and Dean Mark C. Gordon. “The Hybrid J.D program graduates, and all of our graduates, received the excellent practical training in the legal profession that has been a hallmark of Mitchell Hamline for so many years. We’re incredibly proud of all of Sunday’s graduates, who come from a wide range of experiences and backgrounds and who I am confident will make noteworthy contributions to the profession and our nation at large.”
You can watch a live stream the ceremony starting at 2 pm.
