Join MJF for an information session open to all law students to learn more about MJF’s Street Law Program, which will take place during spring semester. In Street Law, law students pair up to teach middle and high school students about fundamental legal rights and responsibilities. Volunteers work with the classroom teachers to identify the most relevant topics for their class. Street Law volunteers will attend a two-day training (1/18/20-1/19/20) where they will learn a variety of methods for teaching Street Law, meet attorneys interested in speaking to their classes, work on curriculum, and leave prepared to teach in the spring! Past volunteers generally feel that this was their favorite volunteer experience.
There are two sessions to choose from on Monday, November 4th or Wednesday, November 6th:
- 11:30-12 in Classroom 240 on Monday –OR-
- 4:00-4:30 in Classroom 214 on Wednesday.
Contact MJF Staff Attorney Sara Thomas at sara@mnjustice.org with any questions or if you are unable to attend the information session.
