I am the daughter of hardworking parents who supported all my ambitions. I am forever grateful to them and recognize without their sacrifices, love and support, I would not be the woman and mother I am today. My daily actions are driven by the foundation my parents instilled in me as a kid: (1) I treat people the way I desire to be treated, (2) I work hard, (3) I am honest, (4) I refuse to be something I am not, and (5) I always set a few minutes of the day to focus on gratitude. I am an experienced intellectual property attorney well-versed in many things under the “IP umbrella” including patent drafting and prosecution, patentability and FTO opinions, global agreement work, and creating IP strategies aligned with overall business strategy. Currently, I am the global lead IP lawyer for Cargill’s Global Edible Oil Solutions business. My responsibilities in that role include managing a global patent portfolio, aligning the IP strategy with the global win business strategy, partnering with research and development and technical teams to drive innovation, drafting and negotiating strategic global IP agreements to foster growth and nurturing valuable IP. I am an extrovert’s extrovert and thrive in team environments. I care about the growth, happiness, and mental health of those around me and strive to encourage such a culture within the teams I work. I am an advocate and champion for diversity of all kinds and strongly believe teams comprised of diverse talents, experiences, and thought are the best teams. I am ambitious and embrace challenge, yet will always seek to do the right thing.
