The SBA is excited to announce the launch of their Health and Wellness Group. The purpose of this group is to promote wholistic wellness within our student body. For each activity the student successfully completes, they will be entered into a weekly drawing to win a $25 electronic gift card. We encourage students who are on Facebook to join the group to foster an environment of camaraderie among students and to see recommendations from other students. However, we understand that not all students are on Facebook.
If you are unable to participate in the “Mitchell Hamline SBA – Health and Wellness Group” because you are not on social media, you can still participate. Each activity will be posted to the Docket the evening before the day it is to be completed. Students must complete the task the following day, the day it is assigned for, and record their participation by taking a photo. Students record their participation by sharing their “proof photo” and emailing it to Brittany Caffey at brittany.caffey@mitchellhamline.edu. All emails must be sent by 11:59 pm the day that it is due.

Researchers at the University of Utah conducted a study on the effect that the outdoors has on a person. The most common positive benefits seen were significant reductions in stress and anxiety after time spent in nature, as well as increased positive affect, or elevated mood.
Spend 30 minutes outdoors. This can be going on a walk, playing with your kids/pets, or even sitting in the sun enjoying a beverage! Your “proof picture” should show us what you did! It can be either a selfie or a picture of your view!
