The ABA Ombuds Legislative Subcommittee is seeking law students to track legislative proposals and case law.
- The Legislative Research Intern would identify existing state case law and legislation that has the potential to impact ombuds work and provide a report on findings.
- Then the Intern would track new and existing legislative proposals as they make their way through the process and any court cases that could impact Ombuds work.
- This is a great opportunity to watch a bill become a law – or not, and learn about the process.
- The Intern would also have access to all ABA Ombuds Legislative Subcommittee meetings and would learn how different types of ombuds work.
- Most importantly, the Intern would learn about how laws and court cases impact people and their work in an ADR-focused profession.
