HAPPY EARTH DAY, EVERYONE! What a beautiful day (in Minnesota, at least)!
Earth day has a significant historical history. It was created in the midst of the Vietnam war to put pressure on big corporations after a massive California oil spill in 1969. The date, April 22nd, was chosen specifically to appeal to college students … probably because they knew we could get stuff done! AND WE HAVE! The first Earth day brought 20 million people onto the streets and has only continued to grow since.
In the spirit of the college students before us, let’s get out there! For this activity, do something meaningful for Earth day. My suggestion is to go out on a walk and pick up trash. A little goes a long way. Other suggestions are to plant something, adopt a sustainable practice, etc. GOOD LUCK!
