Come hear about MJF’s Street Law Program and Paid Summer Fellowship Program this Thursday November 18th in-person in room 125 or via zoom here https://mitchellhamline.zoom.us/j/99930805591
MJF Street Law Program (Open to all law students)
Make the law come alive for youth – teach them about things that matter: their rights with respect to landlord-tenant law, student loans, criminal law, contracts, and more. Law students pair up and commit to teaching middle and high school students (and some adult learning centers) weekly during the Spring semester.
Volunteers work with the classroom teachers to identify the most relevant topics for their class. Though you are responsible for the content of your sessions, there are many lesson plans and tools at your disposal.
MJF Summer Fellowship Program (Open to 1Ls and 2Ls)
Every year MJF raises funds and solicits agencies to support public interest summer clerkships in Minnesota. Each clerk performs 400 hours of legal service with the agency between the end of the spring semester 2022 and the first day of fall semester 2022 on a schedule that will be determined between the clerk and agency. MJF provides to the agencies a stipend of $6,000. The stipend is paid by the agency to the law clerk over the course of the summer.
This year, MJF is pleased to offer 15 clerkships in the METRO AREA and 4 clerkships in Greater Minnesota. Come hear from the MJF Staff Attorney and the MHSL CPD office about applying for these clerkships.
If you have any questions please contact MJF Staff Attorney Becky Beerling at mitchellhamline@mnjustice.org.
