On this International Women’s Day MHSL ACLU Student Chapter presents Women in the Law.
A discussion of topics affecting Women’s Equity ranging from the gender pay gap, lack of female representation in firm partnerships and the highest levels of government, how reproductive rights and the lack of access to abortion affect women’s employability, and the variety of challenges faced by women of color in the law.
Economic Security is about promoting policies within companies to allow for maternity leave, child sick days, and all the other reoccurring demands motherhood requires before a career. Persons identifying as women have not been able to separate themselves from the stigma that when they someday choose to have children they are, therefore “less dedicated.”
