Mitchell Hamline School of Law Office of Career and Professional Development Newsletter
Have a Great Spring Semester 2022!
The Mitchell Hamline School of Law Career and Professional Development Office wanted to send you some reminders and upcoming deadlines coming up.
A few reminders:
Message to Graduating Students
Dear Students,
I hope this message finds you well and safe during this challenging time. The Registrar has informed us that you are scheduled to graduate this semester. Congratulations!
I am writing to remind you that you need to complete your Graduate Employment Survey through our online platform, Symplicity. Completion of your Graduate Employment Survey is a graduation requirement as described on the Registrar’s website.
- You may access the Graduate Employment Survey through Symplicity.
- When you log into Symplicity, click on “ Complete Graduate Survey”on your main screen. You may have to scroll down!
- Please complete the Graduate Employment Survey in its entirety and click Save Changes.
- If you have difficulty accessing or completing the survey, please contact careers@mitchellhamline.edu.
A few reminders as you complete the survey:
- Mitchell Hamline is required to report our graduate’s employment to the American Bar Association (ABA). The ABA is interested in all types of employmentthat our graduates will perform following law school, including non-legal employment. If you have employment following graduation in a non-legal position, please include that information in your survey as well.
- The Graduate Employment Survey provides the option for “Enrolled in a full-time degree or certificate program.” You should only select this option if you plan to continue your education upon graduating from Mitchell Hamline and you are enrolled in another full-time degree or certificate program that you will begin after you receive your JD.
- The Graduate Employment Survey asks you to indicate the jurisdiction in which you plan to take the bar exam. Please note that you must also report the jurisdiction that you plan to sit for the bar exam to the Mitchell Hamline Registrar’s Office so they may properly certify that you have earned your degree. You are responsible for providing this information directly to the Registrar’s Office. They will not receive it from your Graduate Employment Survey.
Thank you, in advance, for completing the Graduate Employment Survey. Your response to this survey does not impact conferral of your degree, but you do need to complete the survey in order to receive your paper diploma. The information you provide assists us in meeting our annual reporting obligations to the American Bar Association, the National Association of Law Placement and the various law school rankings.
Please let me know if you have questions. Stay well.
Summer Recruitment Program for 2022
Please save the date for Mitchell Hamline’s upcoming Summer Recruitment Program, through which employers of all sizes will seek, recruit, and hire Mitchell Hamline students for the upcoming school-year, Summer 2023, and post-grad positions. Employers will be posting opportunities for Mitchell Hamline students through our Symplicity OCI Platform, and students can apply to those jobs through this platform between June 1 and July 12, 2022. Employers will then review the application materials submitted and select candidates to interview. These interviews will be coordinated through Mitchell Hamline’s Office of Career and Professional Development and will take place virtually between July 25 and August 12. After this round of interviews, employers will reach out directly to candidates they wish to hire or invite for a second round of interviews. If you are interested in this opportunity, please read more about the Mitchell Hamline Recruitment Program on our website. You will also be receiving more information from one of our Career Counselors, Erin Stein, via email throughout the summer, so please make sure to keep checking your email after finals to keep up-to-date about the Recruitment Program.
