Student Administrator/Research Assistant for the Clinics
The Clinics at Mitchell Hamline School of Law are looking for at least two students to work as Student Administrators. The selected students would start immediately, and the work would continue throughout the year. This is a great opportunity for students who are looking to interact with the public and want to develop an understanding of legal resources in our community.
Description: The clinics at the law school represent clients who are parents, immigrants, prisoners, leaders of nonprofit organizations, and small businesses. All our clients are real people with real legal problems. The work-study students will greet visitors to the clinic space, develop a trauma-informed intake process and answer the main phone line of the clinic, develop a list of legal resources in the community, and support the work of the clinical faculty and clinic administrative coordinator.
Qualifications: Interested in real world experience and a positive attitude. This position is open to any law student (including 1Ls). Prior experience not necessary.
Time Commitment: Part-time, approximately 10-15 hours per week. The clinic is currently looking to fill the following hours (students need not be available for ALL of the hours to be considered for the position):
- M: 12:30pm-4:30pm
- Tu: 11am-4:30pm
- W: 9am-4:30pm
- Th: 12:30pm-4:30pm
- F: 9am-2pm
Location: This work must be done on-site.
Compensation: This position is eligible for work study. Students should confirm their work study eligibility with the Financial Aid Office (finaid@mitchellhamline.edu).
